A Prayer for the New Year

"Commit your way to the Lord,
trust also in Him, and He will do it."
Ps. 37:5 (NASB)

Contemplation and Prayer
Lord, what will you bring our way this
 year?

 Joy and peace, or suffering?

 Song birds or hungry bears?

 Tranquil waters or raging rivers?

Walks in the park or along dangerous highways?

Whatever jumble of life looms ahead, through every challenge and in every battle, when climbing craggy mountains or navigating dark valleys, may our love for You grow and our faith be strengthened. May courage empower us along uncertain, and sometimes precarious, paths. May daily showers of Your mercy and compassion refresh us and bring healing to any wounds we have suffered along the way.
God journeys beside us,
even on precarious paths.

And may hope cheer our hearts because we know that every day You faithfully journey beside us.

What is your prayer for 2017?
